"A10Y" Artshow by Jefferson Ng @ Wrong Gallery Taipei (Oct 2-24)
"I’M A10Y AHBOY ARTSHOW" is the name of an upcoming gallery show featuring Jefferson Ng, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of his character creation "AHBOY"!
"AHBOY is a character brand created in year 2011. This year 2021 is the 10th anniversary for the character and I’m having my artshow with the title “I’M A10Y AHBOY ARTSHOW by Jefferson Ng” where the A10Y refer as AHBOY 10 Years," darts Jefferson, who added, "For the artshow, I painted 10 pieces artworks together with 10 arttoys to show the connection between applying artwork on 2D form and 3D form."
The show itself will be held at Wrong Gallery Taipei, scheduled to open on October 2nd, and exhibiting thru Oct 24th, 2021. Do check out their Facebook Events Page for further event details.
To celebrate this 10 years anniversary, upsized AHBOY were produced and will be officially release during the show (Price details will be announced during the show). Limited to 50pcs worldwide, the poly-made 20cm tall AJHBOY possesses 3 articulations.
WHO-IS: "AHBOY" (referred to as "A Humorous Boy") is actually talking about a little boy growing up lack of self-confidence due to his mole at the corner of his mouth. He felt that he is abnormal which leads him avoiding being at crowded place. He has to disguise himself whenever he goes out. One day, he met many people with mole at the corner of their mouth just like him. He realises that it is normal & slowly regain his self-confidence. From then on, he gets to know more friends. However, he will still disguise himself and let his friends to spot him. With his trademark mole & cheekiness, it is not challenging at all to spot him when he is in disguise.
ARTIST BIO: Jefferson Ng who is from Sabah, Malaysia, graduated from In-House Multimedia College. In year 2011 and 2012, he created character based brand – AHBOY and visual art based brand - Jeffersonism. In the following year 2013, He established JNJF DESIGN. He is currently practicing as artist and passionate about rock climbing.
