About Those GHOSTBUSTERS-themed Popcorn Tubs
Look, I love me my themed popcorn buckets, and in an ideal fictional world, I would be collecting them, alongside designer toys, as these are larger-sized three-dimensional collectibles, that are licensed too! But through the years, it not longer is shared characters as toppers to soda drink cup with printed images from the film, but more and more becoming full-on sculpted pieces, good or dubious (do not get me started on the "Dune 2" sandworts lol) .... But today, I am able to cobble on a splendid line-up of popcorn bucket releases....!
And while the GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE feature film premieres March 22 (Check out trailers featured HERE & on POPCORNX), for this particular blog-post I want to feature the associated Officially Licensed merch that comes with the film: POPCORN TUBS!
Witness the AMC exclusive Ghostbusters Ghost Trap! This popcorn vessel holds 130oz of popcorn, and looks to be a decent replica of the infamous Ghost Trap seen in the films (I was gifted a much earlier incarnation of a promo, circa 2018), priced at US$39.99 in AMC cinemas in the United States (WITH popcorn) .... And as well will be made available online from 23rd March via amctheatresmoviemerchandise.com (I doubt if it'll include popcorn)! There's also a Mini-Puft Sipper Cup to be had (US$19.99 with large drink).
Also showcased here is the new Cinemark Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Popcorn Container, also available for online preorder on www.shopcinemark.com (through March 31st), with a SRP of US$34.99. And no, I do not think it'll come with the "Ecto-1 Siren" (Would be hella cool tho). International Orders available. Ships August 2024.
Cinemark is as well doing quite a line-up of licensed merch, including the SLIMER popcorn Bucket (above / no longer listed tho), getting me all excited about "bustin' ghost merch" :p
