My Star Wars Day 2025





Honestly, I thought I had my Star Wars Day all planned and figured out...! May 4th fell on a Sunday, and it was perfect timing for a weekend pop-up/flea market at my usual Katong Square, and even initiated co-promotional discussions with fellow vendors, do make the event a lil'sumthing, drumming up inter-galactic hype! Then news of the Elections (May 3rd), which honestly put a damper on my intentions, and further muddy the situations, I had some offline work to wrap-up (before I officially begin an new gig the day afters), and I found myself stretched a lil'bit more thin than I had expected to be.



On one hand I thought I could do a lil'themed online drop - featuring select toys, trading cards and merch! But even then preparation time whizzed by me and here I am, whinging on the blog, as the sun slowly sets outside my window, as if the dreaded Deathstar's shadow cast over my planet LOL

Of course I need not have to wait another yet to do a Star Wars-themed drop, but it would've have been fun, innit?It is a semblance of "hype" I have bought into, and quite frankly enjoy being apart of, in-front-of or behind the vendor table, ya know?



Even online, as I attempt to wrack my brains on how to celebrate this day - beyond reliving my Draw A Jawa or Draw A Wookie sketchery attempts, my Star Wars Toys collection, trading cardflips and blog-features = essentially self-celebration of my assorted SW-hoard, if I am not attempting to SELL something(s), with snaps of my printed-publication showcased here in this post, which honestly is/was something I am not wholly keen with, all these years.



To me, "Star Wars" is meant to be experienced with other like-minded folks, a group/community activity, that is more fulfilling that a singular-solo-enjoyment, which I honestly (the 4th time this word is being used OMG) have been feeling for the past few years. Be it I did not actively seeked out, or am surrounded by circumstances outside of my Jedi/Sith mind-powers of persuasion, the result is abundantly clear: This is now my Star Wars to live and experience, and it kinda sucks Rancor's turd... LOL
