MONKEY CRAB seen @ Pop Toy Show Singapore 2025
Tokyo-based creator Rei Kawakami AKA MONKEY CRAB descended unto Singapore for the 2025 Pop Toy Show Singapore, and I have booth tour video and select snaps to share, including gachas I'd snagged from his booth, and even had one signed! As well there's a lil'Q&A with the creator, cheers :)

TOYSREVIL: How has 2025 been to you? How was 2025 for you?
REI KAWAKAMI: Last year was an exciting and fulfilling year for me, with a solo exhibition in Taiwan and participation in events in Singapore.
I had the opportunity to meet collectors and artists from many countries, which gave me a great deal of inspiration.
昨年は台湾での個展や、シンガポールでのイベント参加など、刺激的でとても楽しい一年でした。
さまざまな国のコレクターやアーティストと出会い、多くのインスピレーションを得ることができました。
TOYSREVIL: What can we look forward to in 2026 from you?
REI KAWAKAMI: I will continue creating figures of animals centered around my gorilla character, Joe Mountain.
This year, I am also planning to release a new Knuckle Walk version of Joe Mountain, featuring him in his signature four-legged stance.
In 2026, my activities will mainly focus on events in Japan, but I will be announcing online sales on Instagram about once a month — so please keep an eye out.
今後も、ゴリラの Joe Mountain を中心とした動物たちのフィギュアを制作していきます。 今年は、Joe Mountain が四足歩行する Knuckle Walk バージョン のフィギュアも販売予定です。
2026年は日本国内のイベント参加が中心になりますが、 毎月1回ほど Instagram にてオンライン販売の告知を行っていますので、ぜひチェックしていただけたら嬉しいです。
Truly loving the clean design lines and aesthetics of this APE! The little accessories indeed embed the figures with character and fun (so worried they'll get lost in my hoard tho lol). One of the BEST deals to be had at the show, IMHO! Of course I'd wanted the larger MONKEY CRAB pieces, but that'll be the aim for next time! I have a penchant to collect "apes" myself too LOL
