TOYSREVIL @ Art Box Camp 2026
One of my main "memories" of my short 2+hours visit to ARTBOX last Friday (invited by mindflyer and not officially to cover the event :p), is of my hesitation to buy and devour food at the event.. as much as the spread was magnificently enticing (even to my severely limited choices due to health issues), I could not bite the bullet and buns, instead lingered about until I gave up my desires and headed home instead. FKing sad day tho, which get to show this event was not "meant for me" (or my demographic LOL).
This was my first ever "Art Box" event, and I have some snaps and video to share, cheers.
ARTBOX is spread across two weekends: Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th ... pause ... then Friday 10th thru Sunday 12th, with doors opening 12noon and closes 11pm (Last entry at 10pm). Located in Singapore Expo Hall 5, it is a huge space to be had, with toilets both inside and outside of the venue, so chillax :)
ABOVE: Finally managed to meet Shannon of @hengsuayeatinghouse in person and had a fab chat, ironically leaving without buying anything...! Looks like I'll have to visit them at their new Ang Mo Kio shop...! Find out more here, cheers.
BELOW: Cinema-themed "BVB STORE" pop-up from @thebeverlybeverly at (Booth 165).
ABOVE: "Brick This Now" custom LEGO mini figures as keychains spotted! Seek online presence via brick-this-now.myshopify.com.
BELOW: Find out more about THE UNWANTABLES from @moxmonsters here in my dedicated blog-feature, and stay tuned for MORE to be had on TOYSREVIL, cheers!
And the 2026-Edition of FOMO ART WEEKEND manifested as the "FOMO ART LANE" at ArtBox (featured HERE) .. for which I could not stop thinking about the items I did not pick-up! There's still NEXT WEEKEND to be had tho...!
I actually had a whole laundry list of thoughts to share, but perhaps THESE should do for now:
- Entry via Online Ticket Purchase ($7 per day per entry) was painless and smooth to be had, even as the looooong queue moved fast and nigh efficient - KUDOS to the organisers!
- It is not necessarily a place for a solo person visit, and best enjoyed and experienced with friend(s) and/or family. This was a very family-friendly event, including screaming excitable kids at the arcade games areas...!
- The food spread is tempting, was a very curated selection, like a upmarket pasar malam, which is not exactly cheap, but they do not look it...! Next week I go eat lah...
- There was surprisingly accessible public seating to be had, and very much appreciated too! Yes there were tons of seats and tables to be found in the food zones, but you know that's where peeps'll go and plonk their weary bodies down even if not consuming food lor.
- The event is "pet friendly" (and coincides with a Pet Expo next door) which means you'll be seeing tons of adorable doggos on leashes, and with my short hours there, did not witness and mischief ...! Good Doggos!
- My first impressions reminded me of Culture Cartel (which I was invited to last year), with very decent presentations and representation, iff a lifestyle resonating with Singapore, and perhaps even offering up "what we could have / what we have" to offer, without being labelled being a "boring country" ... blind to "ageism", I admit tho... and with that, perhaps this lifestyle was not exactly meant for folks like "me", and there is nothing wrong with that at all, IMHO. "Choices" is something we should all appreciate, instead of wrangling for "what we deserve" ~ LOL
