"Special Response Genforcer" Kickstarter Now Live!
Since my initial project introductory post, the "Special Response Genforcer" campaign has since launched on Kickstarter! Over 40% funded in the first 24 hours, with a pledge goal of $19,590 to be committed by 30th October 2026!
Our ultimate mission is to turn 'Special Response Genforcer' into a full-fledged TV series that can be watched around the world.
With this campaign, we are taking the first step towards that mission by making a pilot episode, hopefully with your help!"
I had a chance to grill GENFORCER Co-creator Basil Yeo on a couple of questions the future of GENFORCER!
TOYSREVIL: What do you hope to achieve with this pilot episode?
BASIL YEO: What we hope to achieve with this pilot episode is to produce an exciting and entertaining introduction to the Genforcer world and characters, giving the audience a glimpse of what they can expect if this becomes a full series (fingers crossed!).
We want the pilot episode to be seen by as many people as possible. For Singapore, we will be looking into doing screenings at community events.
We also hope that by putting the pilot episode online for free (and with subtitles in several languages), we will be able to reach out to tokusatsu fans from all over the world and share with them our take on a genre that we all love.
TOYSREVIL: What do you hope to do beyond the pilot episode?
BASIL YEO: Of course, we hope to produce a full series! That will depend on how well the pilot episode is received with the viewers, which is why audience feedback from community screenings and the online crowd will be key.
In the few years that we have worked on developing Genforcer as a team, we’ve really bounced around plenty of ideas amongst ourselves and fleshed out the worldbuilding & character stories.
We are truly excited to share these stories and ideas with the world, and we’re always looking for opportunities to do so.
Our next project, which we are also putting together at the moment, will be another comic book, which is currently titled ‘Genforcer: Priority One’. More on that, soon!
