about ajee's skullskin colored resin prototypes
French-artist AJEE has just dropped colored / painted resin prototype images of her SkullSkin-creation [last featured HERE] - standing at 11"-ers tall, SkullSkin will make her debut in 2008, under a new as-yet-named label to be set-up by Bonustoyz; featuring new up-and-coming non-Graffiti artists (Bonustoyz will still stay a Graffiti Artist-label) = *sweet*
i had a wee chat with AJEE about the current status and future plans
of SkullSkin /// CLICK HERE TO READ & VIEW MORE IMAGES
TOYSREVIL: cheers for the scooper, AJEE! is this the main colorway? will there are other (additional) colorways?
AJEE: Yes this is the main colorway and there will be one other color.
TOYSREVIL: looking forward to that! is a release date set yet for 2008? or pending completion of the figure?
AJEE: No release date for the moment but It's definitely 2008. It'll be as soon as possible, as it's already in production. First wax are shot. We're working on articulation(s).
TOYSREVIL : articulation would be fab! btw is there a new name for the label yet? LOL
AJEE: No name yet. Mist and Reeno are always on the run and quite impossible to catch. But we're in progress on that point.
TOYSREVIL: no worries, i had to ask (tis a tad hard to describe "that new figure from that-unnamed-Bonustoyz_non-graffiti-brand LOL J/K!) ... and in closing this short Q&A - how do you feel about the colorway thus far? is it what you had expected? and how do you feel this time to see the development of your figure?
AJEE: This is the resin prototype I painted myself so I feel as comfortable as I felt with the sculpture. It's my total creation. That's exactly what I expected. I'm impatient to see the other colorway on a vinyl test shot. About the development it's still a long way to go but it started really great.
TOYSREVIL: personally i find the result organic, with the monochromatic whole punctuated by the green and accented by the pink = i like it loads! well done, AJ :) ... and it'll be interesting to see if the manufacturers can replicate your "splatter-pattern" paint-apps tho ... cheers again for the time and trouble AJ, and we look forward to further developments of SkullSkin!
