madl citizens: form-manipulation customs (@ lift, detroit oct 25)
This is the second part of my post-MADL CITIZENS group custom show [tagged] blog-post (becoz the show's underway right now @ LiFT, Detroit / Exhibits thru November 22nd) which features specifically FORM-MANIPULATION in their execution by a select group of individuals, who excels in their craft, IMHO. DRILONE's TC-01R VINYL DESTROYER truly blew me away, with it's details and concentration in it's military-theme. And the inclusion of a IWG-character piloting this warmaker-machine? Total-Brill, IMHO. Check out higher-res images on Drilone's flickr :)
PHU!'s ROGUE TROOPER sees the googled purple+silver intergalactic trooper push forth in it's campaign to protect the universe from alien invaders ... maybe? ... Check out more detailed pics on PHU!'s blog
A HOT AIR BALLOON MADL? Adrian Pina made it happen and I reckon it may not actually really float in the air, but I'd like to believe it does (ignoring the top dangle-string) and off it goes to MADLalaLand! LOL [more pics here].
“Guardian 5 is a household protection robot, monitoring the perimeter of your house, keeping your wireless running, and keeping an eye on your dog when its outside.” - Mike Heisler's aka SLOBOT-mechano custom comes with glow in the dark chest light and wings. [Check out more pics here].
Matt Walker of Dead Presidents Design gives 'death' a glitzy glossy sheen with a touch of pinstriping-glamour, junking the head replacing it with a MADL SKULL [More pics here]
DLux rolls out the heavy artillary with Cobra Commander & The Black M.A.M.B.A - aka *Mobile Assault Mechanized Battle Android* [more pics here].
Kevin Olson aka Motorbot rawks it clean x crisp x bite with THE MAW - MECHA TYPE (continuing the exploration into his "MAW" concept) - as per the usual Motorbot-coolness. [More on his flickr].
The creator of the MADL-form Jeremy Madl aka MAD himself presents GOOD & EVIL GUARDIANS - which may not necessarily represent "form-manipulation", but the addition of the wings make it hawt, so there! LOL [FYI: Each has a wingspan of 2 feet / more pics here].
One of the more charming customs I've seen in a while, as well as inventive, is Audrey Pongracz's vintage-looking MR KNOTTY PINE, complete with flip-open toy-chest head! *Total-Cool*
What can I say about Doktor A's FORTUNE TELLER MADL? I'll leave your opinions to you, dear readers, as I go grab a virtual-bucket to contain my drool (and other bodily secretions better left unmentioned) resulting from the sight of this awesomeness ... *cough*
