Upcoming New Toys on TOYSREVIL (Jan/19/2011)
In addition to the current release of Sprogs Edition B [blogged], UK-artist Cris Rose also teased an image of his upcoming KINGFISHERS series, which is tentatively scheduled for a February-release. While description and quantity is as yet revealed, it is mentioned it is not another edition of the self-made resin figure, of which I am an uber-lucky owner of a set of (hand-customed). And they are uber-cool wee figurines too, IMHO! Stay tuned for more reveals, of both Kingfisher Editions, and images the set posted below :
Aarting Collection announces a new website @ www.aartingcollection.com,as well as a new series of Blankies [Series 1 Blogged / Blankie Tagged]. Series 2 consists of designs by Obos, Marieta, Scave, Lakoneko, Ready2Rumbl, Frank Mysterio, William, William Walison, Incorrectly Guessing, Checha, Jhan and Mawsy - look for these figures to hit stores in Fall 2011, as well reveals of the products in time to come.
Besides producing his own resin figures, Ben Mininberg of Prometheus Rising Studios also has a custom Glyos release coming out soon, two teaser sofa which are shown here, for a total of 5 figures in the drop (new teasers will be posted each day on the PRS site) which will happen in about two weeks' time. From Russian artist Mia4eg comes a brand new "plastic" DIY-toy form dubbed "Miostis". Standing 2.7 inches tall and available in both white or black (25 numbers of each colorway in the first wave) - this information comes to us from reader Sir Tobas from Estonia, who had actually purchased a couple for 500 Russian Rubles each. Cute bum-bums on the figure tho.
From Malaysia-based Jin & Jorge comes URBYKAGE (which stands for "urban street ninja"). Shown here are the WIPs, with the eventual product being a platform-based figurine in white color. Always jazzed about new toy forms, especially from regional players and enthusiasts, and this form looks promising, although it's character-design does come on a tad too strong, if it is to be used as a "platform figure" per se, IMHO. Looking forward to it's progress nevertheless!
Toy2R USA releases the third image of their upcoming 5" tall MINI-QEES, with the Bear Qee coming up alongside the Toyer and Bunne Qee. Quite the pleasant and adorable form for customization, IMHO - and kudos for it's development. (And no, I ain't kissing up as I have zero product-lurve from Toy2R lol). With a SRP of US$15 per, with a February-drop, I am actually looking forward to further forms to come. Are You?
Indonesia-based Plastic Culture facebooked a snap of a self-produced mega-sized LEMI The Space Wanderer plush (created by Thunderpanda) shown "shaking hands "with Jeffrey, and poised for a tentative March 2011 release. 24 inches of plush is a huge hunka-plushie-lurve, innit? Hah!
