Official Trailer for The Expendables 2
Although I did enjoy The Expendables, I had expected more "cheesiness", but was strangely disappointed. Nevertheless, if seen as a parallel to say, an 80's Band music revival performance a couple of decades later, this seems like a treat. Norris? Van Damme? Schwarzenaggar? Willis? What's not to like? And no, I do not think Segal would look good in combat battle-gear, thanks ;p
So the only legit toy we got out of The Expendables was the Stallone / "Barney Ross" action figure in 1/6th-scale from Hot Toys the first time round - which was cool and all (even tho I did not own one myself) - but with the coming of Expendables 2? The name-list screams "action figures" with a capital "S"! And remember the days of yore when HT was known for their Military-themed releases?
Of course we understand licensing might be the production hurdle, but perhaps time to expand the repertoire and include sculpts like Statham and Norris? Don't forget Li (even tho Enterbay has done him) - never forget us token Oriental Asians, yeh? And here be the new poster (image via AICN):
