Toy-Review: Porcino from Tokidoki

PORCINO-REVIEW-01

Tokidoki releases a new Cactus Friend on the form of a 3-inch tall vinyl piggy figurine named PORCINO [blogged] - housed in it's own window-box, which features colored images and info printed all around the box-exterior, as well as a neat diorama-print in the box interior, where the figurine is held. The sty mud-puddle was a nice touch, IMO. Swell packaging all around! I purchased this on the last day of 2011. The SRP was SGD$25 and I reckon it is a decent price-point for an item whose quantity was not revealed. A slightly lower price-range of SGD$18-20+ would be a decent buy tho, IMHO.

The form and design is adorable - and who doesn't like well-designed little piglets? hahahaha ~ Displayed together with the previous similar sized-releases makes swell "sense", while alone, it serves as a Tokidoki-novelty item for fans. It's in pink - so I'm good with it regardless LOL

POCINO-REVIEW-03

The figure itself features zero articulation, and the spikes are soft and bendable, so not a safety 'hazard' - in fact the figure is pretty adorable to be held. The paint-app was surprisingly efficient (considering the glaring "issues" with my Unicornos). This aspect of the figure is something I am pretty concerned with, especially since Porcino is produced direct from Tokidoki - as stated in both the box and figurine itself.

PORCINO-REVIEW-02

I remember the early days of 'quality' Tokidoki-toys when they were produced by StrangeCo (although their boxes tend to "pop open" after a while of storage ;p) and I miss their work on toys. With Porcino, I am pleasantly surprised by the quality thus far, and hope future releases from them would be of a similar or better value.
