Tuesday-Toy-Review: Left Foot by DynomightNYC
As part of a NYCC-goodie box from Justin Rudy of Dynomight NYC, the gift of LEFT FOOT from "The Cthulhu Juice Crew", was a surprising but welcomed one. He joins the adventures of the "original" TOYSREVIL-Edition DuckSauce in Singapore!
And while you can CLICK THRU to read my version of a toy-review, do check out their online store for availability on Left Foot, GID Wigglez and DuckSauce (multiple colorways) - each priced at US$35 per figure.
BAGGED WITH HEADER: You know the fantasy these days of mass-production folks who pack a figure in a baggy and slap on a header-card and call it "independent"? Well, this is not the case for DynomightNYC. Yes, the card is smoothly printed, and technically, this may not what you deem to be a "baggy-with-header-card", as the images can totally explain themselves - though I imagine this'll be a bitch to pack, innit?
DynomightNYC keeps it low-tech enough a package, but with a swell enough panache with printed header-cards and a Certificate of Authenticity.
The figure's "header-card" also doubled somewhat as a cert / declaration card, with hand written numbers (mine was #11 out of 25), as well graphics of the entire 4-humanoid "Cthulhu Juice Crew".
BODY & ARTICULATION: This is zero articulation on this figure. Both the arms and legs do not move, and wings do not flap - so don't go twisting them when you're not supposed to.
This resin figure is manufactured by The Sucklord (how he does it HERE), with doodles hand-drawn on the resin body by J-R00 (like THIS & THIS). What I really like about this figure, was that the kangol hat was firmly stuck unto the head this time round. (My earlier Cthulu had not). The faint pink translucent-tint quality of both the head and hands are quote a delight and surprise.
The "steel"-looking left feet tells us why this figure is named "LEFT FOOT". D'oh!
Signed, on both legs!
"Swanky Certificate Of Authenticity" featuring a 11/25 number and signatures from both J-R00, as well "JBat" aka John Battistini, the other half of the DynomightNYC-duo (who very often does not get mentioned). If you still do not know who DynomightNYC are, check out my interview with John here, back in 2007!
Original ink sketch. Heck, I am so down with original ink-sketches!
DUCKSAUCE: Dude! They are crazy about kangol hats here!
LEFTFOOT: "Let's go in search of your kangol hat!
