HAPPY MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL (Sept 10) and a Toy-Breakdown Throwback
And YES, thy tender eyes did not play tricks on you ... the above image was seen most recently Instagrammed in 2021! And ever so often (once a year *cough*), I do wish I could recreate the above image using brand new figures - in fact I had wanted to constantly change and revolve different figures for different years! But alas, I had not planned that far ahead when I first snapped and posted said-image in 2007, and the miniature "mooncake" props remain lost amongst my toy-hoard ... so I recycle this image again, BUT this year I'll attempt to breakdown the identify the figurines used!
Scroll through to find out a little bit more for each of them, some of whom I've not been able to accurately identify, but ... and as I spent the bulk of my Saturday identifying and tracking these figures down (for info and images), it also dawned on me that in toy-reality, they are ALL OLDER THAN 15 YEARS OLD...! Do YOU recognise any of them? :)
#1: Sam Flores' BILLY BRONZE is apart of the "Get Small SF" mini figure ("blind box"?) series by UpperPlayground X Fifty24SF X Ningyoushi - for which I managed to snag the entire line-up (image above), and for which I picked as TOYSREVIL'S TOP 5th VINYL TOYS OF 2006!
Such a wonderous age of "Art Toys" then (the "Art Toys" phrase did not exist then tho), whereby multiple shapes were made of the character creations, IMHO. It was until a entire generational period of "platform toys" (Qees, Dunnys etc) that had come after, that the current offerings from POP MART, 52Toys etc, that we are able to see and collect yet again multiple forms of mini figures.
#2: In my mind's eye, the "HERMAN VON KLEMPT" figure (a decapitated head in a tinted jar with tripodal tentacles that came with "The Kriegaffe", based on art by Mike Mignola), released by Mezco Toyz apart of 2005's "HELLBOY COMIC SERIES 1" (still one of my fav blister carded figure releases, mind).
This figure was oft used in my "ASK DR.GREENSWORTH" toy-diorama snaps complied and posted below (Which I realised I've not done proper tagging for... perhaps I'll reposted them in a single blogpost, innit? :p) ~ Aaaah the fruitious toy-hobby "ToyDioramarama"-days...!
#3: My first "MOLLY" character figure from Kenny Wong, in her "Wonder Woman" guise (and the open palm/hands stance from the earliest platform toy figure), which I've neither done an unboxing video for, nor posted about on the TOYSREVIL-blog, besides using it for promo of a TOYSREVIL-blog toy photo contest "TOYLOVE2008" (Check out WINNERS HERE).

#4: "PINK BOMB" 100% BE@RBRICK ("Cute" from BB Series 3 / Not these kinky-Pinky ones :p), which I've since used in a series of toy-dio snaps (above+below) with gacha miniatures (a former toy-vice of mine), cheers.
#5: "(Albert) EINSTEIN" figurine from "Lord Crumwell's Oddfellows / The Genius Collection" series by Jailbreak Toys, which was my first ever toy-received for the blog (#BlessYou), with which I made my very first ever toy review video (embedded above)! The toy-brand subsequently made OBAMA ACTION FIGURES...!
#6: GROVER KUBRICK from the "Sesame Street" gang/series, which I'd first used "publicly" when I posed the above image with my scaled TukTuk prop, to announce my Thailand trip in 2010 (for "CLEA 2010")...!
#7: I know this more like is NOT a "Unkotsu" by Japanese creator GOCCODO, but I cannot pin-point it ... if only I had this figure in hand now, I could check (if there was any) markings on the figure ... Welcome to my toylife, cheers.
#8: "Cow In a Mecha(Space)Suit" gacha figure that one day I'll be able to fully identify, cheers.
#9: MARTY MOLE is a constant companion to Metin Seven's "SEAMOUR SHEEP", as produced by the now-defunct Crazy Label...!
#10: 100% BE@RBRICK belonging to ... @.@?
#11: "SYNCH" TINPO from UNKL (from their "TINPO" series, not their subsequent "UNIPOS" platform series). I am trying to remember how the heck I snagged these, more likely at OZZO back in the "Adventures in Kitsch"-days ... aaaah the toy-memories...!
#12: By the time I'd reach this CAT (more likely apart of a larger main character collectible, I was at a loss of whom this belonged to. I will attempt to wreck my brains and keep my eyes open! Please enlighten me, senpai!
