What's Happening in The Art & Toy World On TOYSREVIL (Jan/30/2011)

EVENT-TEXT: Witness ten Singapore-based artists express themselves in monochrome. Using colors from the Pantone Matching System, these artists face the challenge of creating artworks predominantly in one color tone which they selected at random. This proprietary color matching system is traditionally used in a variety of design and printing industries, though in this context, will extend to a wide range of mediums, from painting to digital art.

Curated by Art Management, Pantone My Art features work from artists Aiman, Antz, Ben Qwek (Mr B), Jack Youngblood, Jamie Paul, Jeremy Sharma, Malvina Tan, Messy MsXi, Mojoko and Zxerokool ~ and is on exhibit till March 32st 2011 @ the connoisseur concerto "The Gallery" at 51 Circular Road. Check out launch night snaps on http://www.pantonemyart. And how about some time-lapse visuals for you?

Jeremy Dale aka Valleydweller (whose customs we just blogged about) was down at the weekend's 1-Offs group show and came away with snaps of the festivities. 18 pics above in slideshow - but of course you are recommended to Click for full-screen viewing.

UPDATE: Kirkland Jue also attended the event and has a glorious video (above) and still images to share, which you can view to your hearts' content via Toybot Studios!

Here are a few grabs of Andrew Bell's signing event “Please Draw With Me” at Kidrobot’s NYC store on Thursday Jan 27th just, in which his Sashimi vinyl toy was on full view, as well apparently previews of his Android Mini Collectibles Series 02 (due out late February / early March), which unfortunately were in neither of the snaps posted on KR-flickr, save for the Cai Shen Android.

We've posted about Bwana Spoons' SPOONFUL OF STAR WARS art event before, now these are the event snaps of the exhibit that was held at DesignerCon last year (where a whole chunk of two months' worth of happenings got lost while I laid in hospital bed, innit?). Am just glad I happened to chance upon these snaps from DKE Toys - organizers of the show.

Pretty soon after my earlier Blankie Series 2 announcement post, Aarting had begun soliciting a KickStarter campaign to solicit pledges to help fund the production. Straightup no b.s. approach = I Likie. Posted above is a video with video footage previously seen in Series 1. Meanwhile, support your toymakers by checking out this link. And this is Melissa and Todd from Aarting talking about the campaign:
