TOYS HELP US by Tomenosuke
In an effort to help raise money for the people affected by the disaster in the Tohoku region, Japanese toy retailer TOMENOSUKE decided to initiate a project whereby artists and creators all over the world donate their toys for a sale, with all profits benefitting the afflicted areas in the Tohoku region via the Hida Takayama Volunteer Support Center.
"All items are precious art works you usually cannot obtain, such as one-off and limited-edition toys and art prints which artists and makers prepared for this campaign free or with special discounts and many of which contain creators’ autographs." [Read more here]
I first found out about TOMENOSUKE's "Toy Help Us" project via Ajee's newsletter, and of my earlier post of Michael Lau and ARTDENKA's hand-paints. And while I might not be johnny-on-the-spot with this news, I hope folks can be generous with their donations. You do not even need to paint or create anything new, just an autograph or delicate embellishments might suffice. Folks involved in this initiative include Michael Lau, Emilio Garcia, SHON, Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters, Sket-One, Aya Kakeda, Ajee, Motomichi Nakamura, Doktor A, Goccodo, Blamo Toys and many others. The TOMENOSUKE-blog is being updated with the artists and their donated figures, so do stay tuned to http://tenshu53.exblog.jp for updates. Posted here are some of the items for sale.
