Immortals by Tarsem Singh
I am a huge fan of Tarsem Singh's visual decadence and imaginary. Ever since the epic brain-screw of The Cell, to the excellent breeze of The Fall, I had devoured each and every art directed frame. His sense of story-telling, while conventional and not too inspiring, does provide the framework in which the visual aspect of his movie-making, shine thru. And shine eye-gorgingly, it does.
I've read about his IMMORTALS in the past, with some hesitance to consider it, truth be told. Having scarred by the evocative "300" (for which this film shares the same producers, and hence the exact similar look to these posters) and the pedestrian "Clash Of The Titans" (the Worrington-flick, not the Harryhausen stop-mo classic), I am a tad tired of the "swords, sandals and man-skirts" schtick (for the time being anyways). And these character posters actually do not help it one bit.
Shown here are: Henry Cavill as Theseus; Luke Evans as Zeus; Kellan Lutz as Poseidon; Daniel Sharman as Ares; and Isabel Lucas as Athena. "Immortals" opens November 11th, 2011.
Now all I need are moving visuals ala teaser trailers to move me, yet again (I am easy like that :p).
