WHAT-IS: John Carter is a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). John Carter is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). Trying my best not to evoke images of "Prince of Persia" (must be the abundance of sand), It is downright darn cool to see the concept being made manifest unto the silver screen! While the movie prepares itself for the expectations of fans of the lore from Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Mars Trilogy, Triad Toys releases the "Classic" John Carter in 1/6th articulated scale! (There's also a 100-pcs limited Tars Tarkas priced at US$299.99 here). Gotta love the anceint-battle-gear with a laser-pistol in a holster!
