Mark your calendars for a coming month long event celebrating “comics” (the “published” variety, not the “stand-up” :p) with he inaugural “SPEECH BUBBLE” exhibiting from 3rd to 30th of September 2016.
With an official Opening Night on Friday Sept 2nd (6:30PM - 8:30PM) at Basement 1, Central Public Library, leading into exhibitions and seminars, this’ll be a perfect opportunity to delve into the comicbook “past” of Singapore, and as well engage with the present scene, IMHO.
I am especially keen in the Singapore Comics Exhibition = An exhibition of comics from Singapore, from the days under British rule, through to the turbulent 50s and modern times. Featuring books, artefacts and original art by;
" Benjamin Chee, Cheah Sinann, Troy Chin, Gary Choo, Morgan Chua, Drewscape, Favian Ee, F.S.C., Ken Foo, Otto Fong, Colin Goh, Jerry Hinds, Hu Jing Xuan, Eric Khoo, Koh Hong Teng, Hou Soon Ming, Johnny Lau, Lefty, Sonny Liew, Teresa Ong, Pixin, James Tan, Uranium, Wee Tian Beng, Ye Zhen, Shen Zo and more!"

ABOUT SPEECH BUBBLE: "With a mix of professional seminars, talks, collectors display, book display and original works exhibition, Speech Bubble is a month long event that provides an opportunity for artists, writers, parents, children, teachers, illustrators, collectors, companies, to bond over the shared love for comics.
At Speech Bubble, we hope to foster the love for comics from an early age and to support the craft both locally and in the region. We want to encourage the exploration of the many possibilities comics hold and how they can be used in a myriad of ways be it for education and storytelling to therapy and even publication of corporate financial reports. See you at Speech Bubble!"
