TOP TEN BLOGPOSTS ON TOYSREVIL - #9: About That "Proof of Concept" Animation for DREDD which resurfaced after a year in existence, oblivious to the adoring public, essentially because it was meant to be referenced "internally" by animators StudioAixa.
The sequence was a "CG "Remake" of the bike chase scene from anime classic AKIRA, and needs to be seen to be understood what that meant. The side-sliding of Dredd's Lawmaker bike will leave you with a sly smile, IMHO - and makes me want to bust out my 3A Toys 1/12 edition to recreate that visual too!
The original high-res Vimeo video has since been privated (along with a VFX breakdown video, actually)... but thanks to the internet, there is a mirrored video currently still viewable in the blogpost-linked.
