romance of the three kingdoms action figures
ya know, i had "an extended discussion" with some fellow collectors
over the namesake of these following 1/6th-characters: [via]
online sources name them as dudes from Romance Of The Three Kingdoms (from Sea International), while the more "culturally-enriched" (ie: got read the books) folks say they nary look like the "historical" characters at all ~ with the designs mayhap leaning more towards that of game-designs (for which i have no idea about anyways) - regardless, they look absolutely enticing with delicious detailing!
Zhang Fei (toy + historical)
Guan Yu (toy + historical)
personally, am very appreciative of the release of these figures (besides your modern military - altho this can be considered "military" as well :p) and there really aren't that much period-based Chinese figures in the market (another post for another time) and they genuinely look really good! altho i'd haveta see them in my own hands to ascertain the quality that they've shown in their prototypes ... and these'll be those figures that i needn't rip-apart for kitbash-fodder! *muahahahaha*

The boyfriend plays a lot of the Dynasty Warriors video games franchise,and, yup, these fellas are clad in the general manner of their namesakes in those particular epics. 'course, that might just make me more likely to save up a bit to get these for him this holiday season... *hooray for mutual interests*
