toysrevil's top 6 vinyl toys of 2006 countdown: number 1
number ONE on the Toysrevil's Top 6 Vinyl Toys of 2006-countdown chart is ... *drumroll* ... Crazy Label's TREESON!
what else can i say that has not already been said about Treeson, in this here blog?
his innocent sunny smile and positive disposition? his deceptive simplicity in form and shape? his cute white little heart at the end of the Y-stick? with hardly any articulation, what else can he do but stand there and smile back at you? and that, my toy-lurving-friends, is enough to melt this man's toy-heart.
when i first found him online, i was struck by his look (of coz he reminded me of a durian!) and also his attitude to life, as seen thru images taken by the various folks on flickr, and of the simple heartwarming stories by his creator; Bubi Au Yeung ... and felt i had identified with his "alienation" and mayhap "isolation" as well ~ as corny as it may sound to you, it was a surprising "sensation" for me, in finding this vinyl-kindred (as much as a vinyl toy can be, with a human being lah! *heh*) and he remains close to my toy-heart still :)
not least of all, Treeson's pretty photogenic, i reckon (click on image below to view my flickr-album) ~ which the folks on his flickr-group will well agree to that *LOL* ~ all hail the smiliest vinyl figure in 2006!
Treeson came to me from Andy Woo of Crazy Label and recently i've managed to get both Firefly and Urban Treeson to join him in Singapore. we'll see what adventures they get up to in 2007, yeh? *heh*
- Number 2 / Cactus Friends
- Number 3 / Gorillaz
- Number 4 / Doma Dunny
- Number 5 / Get Small SF
- Number 6 / Frank
this list/chart you've seen/read here is of my own personal favs, of the figures i myself own and might be different to your list of favs - why don't you list your TOP 6 (or as many as you want) in my comments, cheers :)
