about that new flash gordon tv series
i reckon with the recent success of the "re-imagined" Battlestar Galactica tv-series (of coz there are other examples, like Doctor Who etc), inevitably ye old "properties" of yore might get resusitated and SuperheroHype reports that the SCI FI Channel has greenlit production on "Flash Gordon"!
based on the popular comic strip franchise created in 1934 - production on the 22 one-hour episodes will begin in Canada, early 2007. the series, produced by Reunion Pictures, is slated to debut on SCI FI in July 2007. the new series is being produced by RHI's Robert Halmi, Sr. and Robert Halmi, Jr., who previously produced SCI FI's popular miniseries event "Legend of Earthsea."
i reckon, with everything going "nigh realism" et al, Flash, Dale and Ming might just go by way of BattlestarG, innit? all grunge-realworld-tech, rather than the campy-flash of the previous movie (heck, i enjoyed it tho :p) ... and of coz i'd wanna do my 1/6th-take on all this lah! hahahaha but first a drawing, while i go scrounge for kitbash-parts:
what do you think? *heh*
