i first found out about the new Transformers Animated series [wiki] a while back, and the images that accompanied it did not endear themselves to me, IMHO ... but to be "fair", i thought at least to give it a benefit of the doubt, as i (initially) did for the Michael-Bay-movie, yeh? ... that was until i saw the footage screened during SDCC'07 [via]:

well, this sure ain't your classic-Transformers cartoons, yeh?

...at least the new toys would be 'different', eh? :p

    "bend over" or "be neglected", there isn't really much middle-ground left nowadays for properties and concepts of the past, tho there have been some fine gems amidst the dreary LOL
