seriously, i "never" thought i'd be posting about the upcoming live-action DRAGONBALL-Z movie again (becoz the last time i saw online sneaks they were torrid, and no i ain't posting them here) but the latest round of sneaks via JoBlog [via] actually looks palatable-ish, but only barely just ... /// CLICK THRU FOR MORE PICS AND MY FASCINATION WITH 80'S CHEEZE-GENRE FLICKS

ya know, i actually do enjoy a good decent adaptation/genre-flick, specifically of the 80's-cheeze variety (or embodiment-of-spirit thereof) ... hell, even TMNT and Howard The Duck had it's fair share of fun (*cough*) and im not ashamed to say, i actually tracked down (and got a very decent discount) on Street Fighters (yes, the one with Van Damme) - i grimaced so hard and laughed til my lard-lined-sides hurt, so yeh, i was "entertained" ... years on, i even enjoyed the first Mortal Kombat as well (video-game-themed movies are hit-and-miss anyways) ... even now im still searching for a decent cheap DVD of Masters Of The Universe. yes, that Dolph Lundgren one (i can even spell his name. yikes) ... and no, DoA don't count - all it had going for it were a semblance of T&A. or maybe folks are trying too hard to legitamize a hokey fantasy-concept by going all serious with it, innit? - irregardless the kitsch and cheese, The KungFu Must Always Remain True! - IMHO, of coz :)


and while DragonBall Z is decidedly adapted from a well-loved manga (i know of loads of folks who grew-up with DB), it too plays on the fantasy kungfu with special-powers-theme, and from these sneak-pics on JoBlo, they seem to possess said cheeziness of the 80's as well, dunnit? no disrespect meant tho.




don't ask me why, but the scenes reminded me of Gremlins (maybe tis the smoky Oriental-looking interiors LOL - and no, Golden Child DOES NOT COUNT) LOL ... just hope i ain't blind but for my boredom (*cough*) ... meanwhile, peep JoBlog Infotaku.com for more pics (no, i did not mirror them all, yeh? :p)
