bootlegged liberty

In the local film-making circuit, we have a half-joke-saying, that if you're film is being bootlegged, than that means your production has "arrived" - becoz, essentially bootleggers have a knack for spotting "successes" (aka better chances of making money - unless of coz you're bootlegging yourselves, than that's just wishful thinking LOL) ... but the laughter fades pretty quick - and I do not think I need to be ranting on in detail why bootlegging is wrong and how it affects the producer and/or creators of the original product/s, yeh? Becoz you folks do know better, yeh? cool.

Now witness the blatant bootlegs of Erick Scarecrow's GID LIBERTY [what is] = a 190-pcs limited vinyl figure exclusive to Neon Martian - currently seen on ebay-auctions (no link for you, sorry). One word for y'all: "BEWARE"

  1. oh, but look at the color in that fake one! Such a good green! (I know bootlegging is bad and wrong, I just always thought it was flattering too) At least they did a nice job on knocking it off. Not like the tokidoki qee from the fake bags.

  4. I agree that bootlegging is the enemy of all toy lovers. However in my opinion this figure was terrible to begin with - with its high school girl's sketchbook/faux anime look - so it is probably a sad reflection on this fact that they were able to bootleg the figure so effectively.
If anyone has seen fakes of better quality figures, they will know that it is easy to spot the fake.
Rant over - bring on more high quality toys.
