vinyl toy network day one: "live" via toybreak & spankystokes.com

Breast painting, making zombies and day-old muffins = just some of the conversational topics bandied around when I'd thought to pop by Toybreak's online live coverage of Vinyl Toy Network - Day One, December 6th 2008 (Noon-ish, Pasadena-time) as the last stop of my online journey for the day (it was around 3am Sunday morning / Singapore time) - when things started to get "lively" ...

Blame Eric for breast-painting (aka Toygodd of Action Figure Times' The Vinyl Shack) and Ayleen for day-old muffins, zombie lurve from everyone else conversing online - including Krakit (from KR forums), Yiao (Dunny.nl), Doktor A, MrFloyd, Bax Turbine and loads others with numbers-for-nicks (I begun as one of you folks too! *Type /nick followed by your nick in the field, press 'send' - and it'll convert your nick!) - fun times!





James Hakola aka Mr.Dandy sat in for an interview and showcased his different toys (FYI: James sculpted Popbot for Sideshow a while's back! www) - while Dragatomi showcased their new plush toy - based on their mascot!






Then the Spankystokes' webcam (live streaming) went mobile and took viewers on a walkabout trip around the con-floor (Color me slow I didn't know Spanky had a booth? - peep Brand New Intentions and buy stuff online, he says) while near everyone bugged him about showing Matt (from October Toys) sculpting the 3D-Retro logo "live" (or was it an astray? I missed that...). All that while Angry Woebots and folks were doing "live" painting in the background.





Folks on Spanky's stream got to see Spanky's booth (which was right next to BIC Plastics). We got to see Blokhedz co-creators Mark and Mike Davis, custom Vinnies (VTN-mascot manifest toy), and when both Spanky and Toybreak started to see each other!


Now, that surreal moment hit the spot - both of the crossover streaming, and of me being able to experience VTN "live" becoz of these folks. You folks rawketh! ... Then when the birds started to chirp outside my bedroom window, and a wee stream of light shone thru the blinders, t'was time to slumber, as the festivities carried on in Pasadena Convention Center, USA. [FYI: wtfunks?! got crisp-clear pic-coverage on his flickr-album of VTN Day One].

I leave you folks with a wee sampler of the online convo @ Toybreak's stream - that happened between 4:06am to 4:25am (Singapore time) - that was all I could grab! LOL

FYI: It starts with Toygodd telling me what to expect to spend if I went to the U.S. (by the www-gawds I wanna hit SDCC in 2009), and ends with James from mrdandy.com sharing with folks on what materials he uses for sculpting. Like I said, "fun times" :)
