Upcoming adFunture Toys @ Taipei Toy Festival
Besides the production toys (aka Mini-Grobots, YOKAs etc) that made their debut at the Taipei Toy Festival - adFunture also had on display a series of upcoming vinyl toys (predominantly with a Fall-2009 release schedule), including the previously blogged about Bootleg Kaijus from MishkaNYC and Oliver Hibert's blue bearded-chubby figure (who now has a name; "Milton"!) - as well as brand new designs from Nate Van Dyke, Parra and Bee Wong! The BOOTLEG KAIJUI shown is in an edition of 80 pcs at a SRP of NT.2700 (gawds but I heart it when folks snap event pics with tags). Am uncertain if they will be available beyond TTF - but do check out aFunture's eshop or MishkaNYC to be sure. (FYI: the figures were sculpted by LamourSupreme)
adFunture head-honcho Eddi Yip had mentioned (on his HS-blog) that FIRE PANDA celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and that adFunture will be curating their anniversary exhibition in Shanghai. The Fire Panda "mascot is designed by the company owner; Bee Wong.
Nate Van Dyke (creator of Payday vinyl with Upperplayground) has a new Simian character named LAST SAMURAI (no, not Tom Cruise fighting slow-mo with a katana) decked out in his battle-tunic, sandals (Flip-Flops FTW!) and a banana-snack on standby. [additional pic via VinylPulse]
From Dutch illustrator / street artist Parra comes THE PROSTITUTE - which features his signature beak-face style now manifest unto a working girl / streetwalker with pink-skin and blue-hair. Very noice indeed* [Additional pic via VinylPulse]
"MILTON" be the name for the gentleman above [last featured] as designed by Oliver Hibert. Milton look totally cool, IMHO.
