ECONECO for Taipei 100% FREE @ Monster Gear Taipei (April 2-15)
One of the standout work which I had seen and adore from the posted previews for TAIPEI 100% FREE (happening at Monster Gear Taipei, opening April 2nd) is the artwork from Japanese artist ECONECO 絵子猫（エコネコ）~ whose big-haired + bone-biting + cosplaying femme fatales put the Danke Schoen-bear thru the ringer! But of course serves up ice-cream & delish cakes in the end aaawwww ~ CLICK THRU to have a closer-look at the wonderful sketch-style colored artwork, which is in slight contrast to her previous hyper manga-works, which you can oogle to your heart's content via http://www.econeco.jp :)
More "cheeky" than "provocative", without fully evoking the hentai-spirit, these illustrations come across nigh playful, with a tinge of danger in it's undertones, but extreme-girlicious enough to catch my eye, and evidently my pop-culture lurving-heart. Shown above are ECONECO's artwork being utilized to decorate the studio-set of a Japanese television program; "おしゃれイズム" / "Oshareism" ~ scheduled for an April 4th on-air broadcast in Japan (all images and more via her blog). Posted below is a video of ECONECO performing "live painting" (in her "signature" orange overalls) at Fukuoka, Toyota showroom (circa October 2009) found on her website, whereby 4 paintings were completed within an hour.
