THUNDERCATS-ANIME

Images of both the THUNDERCATS anime relaunch on Cartoon Network has hit the web. We actually last reported about the re-vision along with a concept-art here., and with the currently revealed character design, intention is now more concrete.

Above is the startling image of Warner Bros. Animation and Studio4°C re-imagination of the popular 80's American cartoon license in an exciting Japanese animation style [via Comic Book Rresources]. Though not exactly "cutting edge", it is at the very least unlike the current cookie-cutter vein of super-deformed cuteness of “Teen Titans,” “Ben 10,” “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” - which ironically is executive produced by Sam Register (who also produces "Thundercats"). Pretty exciting actually, given my peculiar stance on revivals (Development is always good, without the need to reuse, as we have the boxed-set DVD to relive the yesteryears). As well we have the below posted image of a promotional poster from Bandai toys spotted at the recent London Toy Fair [via Topless robot]. And please do not ask for "Snarf", Snarf is so 80's - although I'd imagine Snarf to be a robot this time round, maybe?

THUNDERCATS-POSTER

Will still having not been able to watch TRON: Legacy in the cinemas is bugging me to bits, the enjoyment of the movie's design continues still with this video featuring the Light Bike Design with designer Daniel Simon. Meanwhile, I reckon I'll just have to wait for the DVD eventually.

Buttons and badges galore from Thailand's Studio Aiko - with a swell selection of goodness from their Facebook. I've always been a fan of badges, but they somewhat reminded me of the 1980's! Back then I literally was collecting badges (we still called it "badges" back then) and suck them on denim jackets, shoes and even hand-held folders! Too badf they tend to rust easily in the elements back then though LOL

TOLLESON-BUTTON-PARTY-02

"Buttons-Wednesday" continues with "Button Party! Series 1" by Scott Tolleson, as currently distributed by DKE Toys (oh what would we do without their product emailers LOL) - with the series consisting of 2 packs of 5 x different 1" buttons @ the SRP of US$5 per pack. Reckon I need some buttons on my wheelchair innit? Too bad the wheelchair's a rental ;p

CNY-RABBIT-PRINT

Singapore-based Steve Lawler aka Mojoko unveils his Chinese New Year / CNY Print Year of the Rabbit. Eventually available in an edition of 100 - silkscreened on Rice Paper sized 50cm x 70cm - this is an intensely cool bunny montage, innit? OBEY-GIANT-STICKERS-01

I have witnessed on a few occasions, how popular Obey Giant products have been. And now we are faced with a couple of "Sticker Packs" from Shepard Fairely x Ernesto Yerena art (as produced by Sticker Robot), featuring a "Human-Rights" theme. Currently distributed by DKE Toys, Sized, these 4.5" x 6" postcard-sized stickers are available as "We Are Human/Boy Sticker Pack" and "We Are Human/Man Sticker Pack" - tis time for "Immigration Reform Now"!

Shepard-mentions: "The United States was created by immigrants and now our country needs immigration reform.I collaborated on this project with my co-worker Ernesto Yerena who shot the photos and helped with the graphics. Zach De La Rocha and Marco Amador provided input and support. Thanks for supporting human rights!"

OBEY-GIANT-STICKERS-02

There is also a third Sticker Robot vs Shepard Fairey sticker-product: The "Defend Equality Sticker Pack" (Love Unites). Quite fascinated the appeal of OG-stickers, or perhaps it is the art of OC that shines thru the material used to replicate it?

Shepard-added: "During the Obama campaign, Shepard Fairey and Sticker Robot worked together to print and disseminate over 500,000 of the iconic Obama Hope stickers, almost all of which were given away to volunteers and canvassers across the country. They have continued and will continue to work together on other socially conscious sticker projects. Stickers are printed on the front and back and measure 4" x 6". Defend Equality. Enough Said."

FUDGE-FACTORY-STICKERS-1

I actually used to partake me loads of stickers in the 80s [READ], while recent offerings leave me somewhat unexcited, primarily because I find lesser surfaces to stick them buggers, innit? Regardless, this is a final sticker-news for this Wednesday's online offerings on TOYSREVIL, featuring "Fudge Factory Comics Decorative Adhesives"

FUDGE-FACTORY-STICKERS-2

Distributors DKE Toys mentions: "We've been talking with Travis about doing a FudgePack™ for as long as we can remember. We'll it's finally here! Travis Millard A.K.A.
