> so what's news?
what is it about singapore that'll garner a 1/2-page spread for the seemingly-salacious gossip/rumour of the pending nuptials of both singapore idolists Sly and Maia? WHAT THE FCUK? dun we have any OTHER news to report on? nothing of greater newsworthiness to print? oh for sure itz all about entertainment on a dulldullsaturday, but c'mon! why can't they be left alone? what, becoz they're "celebrities"? and hence are "public figures" and have no right to a personal life? so what if they fcuked and hence they are inhuman and become creatures to be exhibited in the zoo that is an island that is the fcuking tiny red-dot that which is singapore?
and the divorce-saga-of-the-decade of linanxing and yanglibing could garner a few day's updated reports? *sigh* ... maybe it'll be more entertaining if they dug up their screwing-habits? "t'is becoz they fcuked only twice a week and hence the breakdown of marriage. we are sad yes we are."
like we give A SHITTE?
i lurve my country, i do. but sometimes it REALLY BUGS ME UP ME ARSE that we're so fcuking sad and hardup for ENTERTAINMENT. trying so gawddamnedhard to be different and yet essentially be copying everyone else. ... heck, i dun even need to go into the politiks of the country = NOT INTERESTED. or i choose not to be. personnally; if ya can't change it, then shut the hell up ... no amount of posturing is gonna get anyone anywhere (mayhaps to fcuk that sweetyoungimpressionable-thing?) ... but i digress...
why dun we do an expose on how perhaps a phonecall from his recordinglabelboss might have fcuked over or strongarmed Sly's wedding plans? or how much actually is being put into productionhouse-coffers at the end of the day and whether SUBJECTIVELY the shitte that spills out of our googlebox is worth the money spent on it in the firstfcukingplace?
hey, itz OUR fcuking money, innit?
am tired of the ol' "not enough budget hence the quality is like that lor"-BULLSHIT. fair enuff, i can relate to that, i've walked down that darkmurkypath myself ... but hey, take a look at the content first and then realize there wasn't anything worth wankingoff to in the first place!
im not about slapping my own ricebreadbowl, but c'mon people! get a fcuking grip! (i can hear alotta peeps telling me THAT too hahahaha) and DO THE FCUKING JOB. whining means SHITALL at the end of the day and the irony is i see a bunch productionhousepeeps gathering together in a sham of an association to do what i do not know coz there sure aint no results to see (wank at each other's virtues and failures, perhaps?) and all i hear is sweet-talk to wrangle money out of the government. and dun even get me going on about companies squeezing moolah out of the authorities' fatarseholes , which is the great irony of ironies in the survival of the industry in singapore ... aint about "nuturing talent" and alla that jazz, itz about fleecing other people's money out of the blindbanker and calling it your own and your "contribution to the industry"! goodfcukingGAWD, MAN! bwahahahahaha ... hhhmmm mayhaps i should consider doing that too huh? nyaknyaknyak >;p
and this misearble-piss-of-an-industry is unto a village of con-men, pulling scams on each other trying to make ends meet. hey, in all sense of "practicality" i can fault it not, for everyone has a right to survival ... but hey, then tis the village/kampong you will stay for the rest of your miserablefcukeduplife, innit? ... not that itz a badthingoranything, but hey please do acknowledge that fact and shut the hell up afters! hahaha i am an unreasonable mian i am *blergh*
but then again, maybe that can be said about me lurving my own country and staying in it. but did i say i want to stay and work in it forever? ... heh. thatz another topic for another time...
so meanwhile let us be content wif the further adventures of the singaporeidolfcuklives and the virtues of productionpeoplewithtoolittlemoney and laugh at the sudden immergence of royston tan and jack neo with a new digital film fiesta? bwahahahahahaha as if we have that much content to put into it in the first place? such is the irony isn't it? but then again on such small an island tis not enough we have the SIFF (which is all good) but we suddenly see the frenzied-sprouting of digitalfilmfestivals? C'MON PEOPLE! just fcuking STOP the posturing and REALLY get out there to make the industry an INDUSTRY and from there, (dare i even say or hope for it?) we'll be able to develop a FILM / MEDIA CULTURE! now, wouldn't that be great?
(the above is a reaction to the Life section of the straitstimes newspapers on the saturday of 12.3.2005 = sorry no weblink as there was a need for registration of whateverfcukshitte lah. AND itz of my own opinion and not for circulation yaddayaddayadda so nobody can sue me whatevah. heh. FCUK'EM ANYWAYS! bwahahahahaha ;p)
