i need some fine wine and you, you're just hung up

cheesy blog-entry-title notwithstanding coupla new CDs fillin' up me roomspace past few days; The Cardigan's Super Extra Gravity and Madonna's Confessions On A Dance Floor. (am not paid for these amazon-links, just so ya know ... should i be? *heh*)

am liking The Cardigans' new album loads. crisp pop/rock tunes with delayed-angst filtering out = a rockier and "edgier" (i hate that term, but it works sometimes) sound ... fell for the single when i first saw the music video on MTV (oh but for the power of media-manipulation) and decided to get this album based on that single and i have not regretted it at all :) ... the album comes with an additional bonus DVD packed with loads of behind-the-scenes material (rather than just your basic MVs with some biography, ya know?) and im such a sucker for bonus features *HAH* :p

watch the music video for "I Need Some Fine Wine And You, You Need To Be Nicer" here (real player is required) - even the long-ish title doesn't get to me! lol

view Cardigan's music videos from the past:

lovefool (the "classic" which first introduced me to the band :p)

._.

first heard Madonna's new album from the disco-thumpin'-speakers of a local CD-shop; which got me interested (not least her "Hung Up" single *shudder*) and plonking down some moolah fer it post-haste ... after which the first a coupla listens, Madonna's tracks started to sound the same ... which is sorta good (*heh*) in a way; coz of the non-stop-seamless dance-tracks (great for "retro-themed" parties, eh? *heh*) ... bad, coz everything's the same ... can't fault the woman for tryin', innit? ... altho i'd rather have "borrowed" this from a friend or not, ya know what ima sayin' here? *muahahahahahaha* ... altho i'd rather err on the side of caution, what with these problems that are poppin' out of the musicwoodwork, innit? *thank gawd im on a Mac* heh :p

watch the tacky 70's-rip-off / still dancing around a danceparaparamachine music video; Hung Up here.

._.

titbit:
... and the only link between these two artistes? is that The Cardigans are Swedes, as are the co-producers of Madonna's album; Bloodshy+Avant ... and that's just about it *heh* :p

'nuff said ... IMHO, of coz
