comics mode monday

Stephen King + Jae Lee + Marvel Comics = Dark Tower.
mayhap for a novel-reading-philistine (ie: hardly evah!) like myself, King's movie adaptations are more familiar to me, so i can hardly work-up a drool ~ which doesn't say i dun much care (*disclaimer-city* in-case the comic's a hit and King suddenly rawks my world*! *MUAHAHAHAH* :p) ... BUT, i've always been a huge fan of Jae Lee and from the artwork that we've seen so far? = i can't wait! ~ but i guess i'll haveta, at least til 2007 ... *darnnit* ... hey, but that's just a month away, innit? *heh :)

added 7/12: what's this that King might not even be the writer for this project? = that's a lotta B/S and advertising under false pretext, however you might wanna spin it! *definetly not cool* >:(

*who said stamp-collecting is old skool and outdated?*

first seen on Neil Gaiman's journals, reported on BoingBoing.

*so when's Marvel gonna do theirs?* :p

added 7.12:
read more details on the comicbook covers used in the stamp-collection@DC Comics.

Marvel poised to have their own Dark Knight dark crusader; by re-introducing in Moon Knight! ... featuring the gorgeous art of David Finch (wiki) and written by Charlie Huston. ... i've never really cared much for this character, even when Sienkiewicz did the covers ... but we shall see, for the promises are aplenty on this dude ... *heh* :p

now that stainless steel playing cards exist, methinks it's gonna be mondo-damage time for playingcards-wielding-peeps like Gambit and even Bullseye!

*sweet*!

guess who's back?

Scott Shaw "returns" with Captain Carrot & His Amazing Zoo Crew!

and why is this nugget of info listed here? tis becoz i have mondo-fond memories of this comic (even with my limited collection) ... of reading Captain Carrot, while listening to Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy", while lying on my bedroom mattress on the floor, some 2-decades-odd ago ... the memory still inexplicably fresh and each inseparable from the other ... *hhhmmm* :p

*do you have any comics-reading/related memories?*
