snowing in singapore

:: LIFE IN SINGAPORE::
we (gf and me) saw none of them fireworks this new year past and thank gawd did not even dare step into Orchard Road, for fear of the thronging crowd - which was a good thing! reading about the recent snow-spray phenomenom in singapore, had gotten me up and about with this entry ...

my first experience with the snow-spray-mayhem was at last year's xmas (yes, i dun get out much *BAH*), standing opposite Orchard Cineleisure soaking up the atmos wondering what the heck was going on, what with kids spraying randomly at people/strangers and even passing cars! quite farnie really (juz coz i was at a "safe distance"); seeing cars and taxis covered in white and profanities and even a passing car shouting and giving the thumbs-up whilst being pelted with foam! *aiyoh* party-ON!

me thinks tis them sellers of snowsprays (IMO) who've left behind cartons/crates of them cans (who they could not sell by day's end) for anyone to pickup and put into erring-action! and all that was left were streets filled with emptied crushed cans and residue snowspray ... who talks about "responsibility" when rubbish is left over like that, eh? does "pandemonium" equal "fun"? ("anarchy" would be too destructive a word, altho tis near borderline-truth, innit? ) mayhap tis the "only" obvious way of reverie and merry-making, in the land of so-called "too many-restrictions", i surmise ... be that as it may, to each his own ... i'd just choose to steer clear of them "activities" lor :p

altho i haveta ask: have we gotten our festive seasons wrong? snow spray on a new year instead of xmas? *HAH*

banning of aerosol sprays and the online flamewars "conversations" on the activity (turned "racist perpetuat-ism") notwithstanding, here's a look at this year's magnificent snowspray "display" on Orchard Road, @ Haro Singapore, even offering video-clips of the festivities (scroll to bottom of blogentry :p).

suggestions for authorities and event planners for the 2006 xmas and/or new year orchard road parties: have a gigantic street-level foam party at a designated venue lah! or even erect snow-machines throughout the stretch of Orchard Road!

finally we can say it "snows" in singapore, innit? and yet another first in them record-books, innit? *heh*
