:: STREET ART ::
shortly after drop-lifting Paris Hilton, Banksy visited Disneyland:
"The hooded figure was placed inside the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride at the California theme park last weekend ... It is understood to have remained in place for 90 minutes before the ride was closed down and the figure removed ... A spokeswoman for Banksy said the stunt was intended to highlight the plight of terror suspects at the controversial detention centre in Cuba." [via]
i reckon this is hilarious and pretty apt locally here in singapore during this period of the International Monetary Fund (S2006) and Singapore Biennale; coinciding @ the same time.
with varied restrictions being placed during the IMF and the fervor in which the relevant governing-body, arts community and media is promoting the Biennale, tis little wonder if any subversive/guerrilla "artist/s" has not been taken into consideration "alternative explorations of art"? hey, i ain't tryin' ta stirupshitte y'know, im just sayin' ... *hyuks*
