why is it that when (you buy) a figure is in the display box, it nearly always

i reckon tis like food from a hawker-center/food court ~ where it looks yummilicious on the menu display board, but looks totally different from when they serve it to you ... so it's up to you to pose the figure / decide on the taste of the food, yourself, innit? *heh* :p
