diamond previews does urban designer vinyls
i remember buying the thick PREVIEWS catalogs every month and flipping thru it thoroughly to look out for what's new in the comicbook world worth pre-ordering... and in those pre-www information sites, Previews was one of THE only way/resource to knew about upcoming products that might eventually line the comicbook shop shelves (along with demised-Advance Comics et al), for both retailers and readers. now i just flip thru them in the shop and mark my orders on the pages :pand the "reality" was/had been, urban vinyl / designer toys and comicbook properties never did meet in them pages, sorta like parallel worlds but untouched by each other ... until now:
Diamond Previews introduces a brand new Designer Toys Section, beginning with the February 2007 edition (covers shown above), featuring exclusives and a monthly showcase for urban vinyls and "other" emerging collector toys. subsequent issues will focus on the DIY aspect of designer vinyl, as well as offer limited edition exclusives.
on-left is a Previews Exclusive Joe Ledbetter 8"-er Toxic Swamp Dog Qee vinyl (orange) from Toy2R and limited to 504 pieces worldwide @ USD$60 per. and on-right is Play Imaginative X Touma's 8"-er Baby Hellhound Black version plush, limited to 500 pieces worldwide @ USD$25 per.

also included in them pages (click on icons below to view bigger) are quite surprisingly a wide variety of figures (which might end up changing the display landscape of your friendly neighbourhood comicbook shop, innit?), including My Lil Cthulhu, Hoodiez, Dekoboko Boys, Ugly Dolls and even Bwana Spoon's Edward The Gator!
