latex for fun book launch

in Barcelona, designer Máximo Tuja (aka Max-o-matic) found a balloon by chance and drew a funny face on it, mocking a nasty guy who he’d met that earlier morning. Because he and his colleagues all got such a kick out of it when he showed it to them, he started drawing new balloon characters in the following weeks. As he realized how contagious the happiness about the balloons was and that other designers could have as much fun designing them, Max-o-matic founded the project “Latex for Fun”. He invited designers from all over the world to follow his example and make characters using balloons or other latex objects such as gloves or condoms.

one of the result of this endeavour is the publication of the book Latex For Fun, in which 88 designers out of the participating 135 designers, from over 20 countries, are represented.

scheduled for a May-release, the 308-paged, full-colored book comes in soft-cover with glossy foil lamination, and is priced @ € 35,00 (in Germany) / USD$50,00 / £ 27,99 - and includes five latex ballons designed by Gastón Caba, Jeremyville, Jon Burgerman, Pulcomayomand Sauerkids = *coolness*

for the launch of the book, an exhibition will be held in Vallery (Barcelona, Spain) from May 24 - June 7, with the opening reception on May 24th @ 10pm

tis a pity (for me) i'd missed the opportunity to be involved in this project ... regardless, my best wishes goes out to all involved and a hearty congrats to Max! (& cheers for the headsup)
