painkiller jane on sci fi network
as a comicbook (character), i couldn't really connect with Painkiller Jane (i haveta admit ;p), but as a new television series from Sci Fi Network? starring the delectable Kristanna Loken (She-borg from Terminator 3)?

decidedly very Sin-City-ish tho ... peep two more (less "exciting") promo video-clips here

FYI: Painkiller Jane was previously made into a TV-movie, circa 2005 - with a much ifferent take than from the comicbook and present tv-series.

"Painkiller Jane is the story of Jane Vasko, a DEA agent who is recruited by a covert government organization tasked with capturing "Neuros"—genetically enhanced individuals who possess superhuman powers of the mind. During the course of her first investigation with the team, Jane inexplicably discovers that she, too, possesses extraordinary abilities, which render her impervious to injury . . . but not pain. She develops miraculous regenerative powers, heals from every injury, and finds herself stronger than she had been before." = so it's "She"-Wolverine with a healing factor, but no adamantium claws? :p

I've seen the pilot of PJ and look forward to the series. I think they've found a nice niche, with a dark feel that shows like Alias and Heroes didn't reach, and a depth to the human problems that makes Loken and the show quite likeable.
ReplyDeletesounds all the more enticing to watch! - cheers for the headsup and darnnit i hope this really makes it to singapore teevee somehow ... well, at least on cable ... heh
