Carl Jones' Hoodiez vinyl figures [blogged] from Dreamland Toyworks are set
to launch this May 12th @ Meltdown Comics, LA (2pm-10pm)
Boogie, Jazz, Noc, Scrapz and Flip stand between 4" to 8"-ers tall and are strictly limited to a 1,000 Standard edition, a 200 limited Gray scale edition and a 200 limited All-Black edition = *schweet* ... the launch will include a signing beginning at 2pm and a gallery mixer with refreshments beginning at 6pm featuring Carl Jones’ original art.
LA Graffiti artists Relax, Wisk, Make One, Cab and Spurn (from The History Of Los Angeles Graffiti Art Vol. 1 & 2) and Felipe Smith of MBQ will be collaborating on some limited edition Hoodiez! (cheers for the headsup, Francisco!)

The “HOODIEZ” are a series of urban vinyl toys that consist of 5 original characters: Boogie, Jazz, Noc, Scrapz and Flip. Boogie has massive arms, with a tiny head, and a sleeveless hooded sweatshirt. Jazz rocks a red hoodie, shades and a geometric beard. Noc wears his hat turned backwards with giant headphones and floppy sneaks. Scrapz is the little shorty with blocky braids and a long white tee. And then there’s Flip, a runt with a backpack and an oversized hat pulled down over his eyes.
The “HOODIEZ” are the creation of Carl Jones, who is currently a producer on (adult swim’s) top rated animated series, The Boondocks, as well as the illustrator of Aaron McGruder’s syndicated daily Boondocks comic strip. This collection of art toys is produced by Dreamland Toyworks, founded by David Fiorito. Dreamland Toyworks was born from Fiorito’s love of toys, street art, comics, and cartoons, combined with past experience developing licensed products including Todd McFarlane’s Spawn and Brandon Lee as The Crow. Dreamland Toyworks is dedicated to making great toys designed by diverse artists and designers from all over the world.
