tony shiau's nakanari spikis wood stencils

Tony Shiau (of Me Llamo Jellyfish) has stepped into the realm of stencil art with his creation of his 5-pcs limited Nakanari Spikis Wood Stencils currently available exclusively on Future Plastik:

priced at £17.99-per and measuring 12X12-inch, the stencils are created via spray and acrylic paints on hand-sanded flatwood (with weathering on edges). "each piece comes with the Nakanari logo in the right hand corner and signed, doodled and numbered on the reverse side. Ideal for framing or hanging as is." - read about my wee a chat with Tony about his experience with wood stencils = *after the JUMP*

TOYSREVIL: is this your first time with stencil art? how does it feel? are you happy with them?

TONY SHIAU: Yes, this is my first time try doing stencils work also test new wood media as canvas. i love the result they really turn out so clean and nice. I also wanna said thanks to my artists Dave Quies AKA outtamymindcreations - who helped me by creating the layout for each stencil-cut with the lase cut machines, so the project can be easy and smooth.

TRE: how was the learning and execution process?

TS: every new work and projects need lots research with material process, and the importance of execution in selecting the right material, as well as the importance of the contrast of colors for each work.

TRE: will you be doing more stencil-art in the future?

TS: yes i would love to do more stencils art in my next show. i love that i could turn every single characters i have in to stencil art.

TRE: how did the stencil art project come about?

TONY SHIAU: i always wanna try to do my own stencils art but I'm too lazy to spend a coupla hours each time for making cuts for my own stencils - but Dave told me about the usage of the lase machines so we start creating some nice cut stencils from and that's how we end up making our own stencils work.

TOYSREVIL: good luck with your art, Tony! am sure we'll be seeing a lot more in time to come! (and for readers of my blog, do stay tuned for a "little surprise" that's in the works! muahahaha :)
