bigshot toyworks @ sdcc 2007

and so we've been seeing quite a bit of Bigshot Toyworks' products being teased on this here blog, specifically Ashley Wood's awesome Bertie = due for display+debut (at ToyQube's Booth#4937) in a few days' time @ San Diego ComicCon :)

and so in between his already massively-busy and sleepless schedule, i pestered played 'word-association' with Klim Kozinevich and this is what he's got to share with us:

TOYSREVIL: letz get straight down to biznez: "NATHAN JUEVICIUOS X MTV"

KLIM: the Fauna Series is based on the Shorts done by Nathan Jurevicius and MTV Canada ... Nathan is a friend and I am a huge fan of his, so when he said there might be a small project coming up, we jumped on it - a super limited release exclusively for MTV Canada and if all goes well, who knows...

TRE: what? no lurve for your adoring public? LOL - totally diggin' the kaiju-vibe and Nathan's design-intricacies tho ... next up: "ASHLEY WOOD"

KLIM: BERTIE will be on display at SDCC at ToyQube, DKE and IDW ... Ash will be around signing books and bodyparts, and there's also a limited post card (500 pcs) ...

note#1: digital development and sculpting of Bertie was done by Scott Wetterschneider (the other brain behind BigshotToyworks)

note#2: above image-right: the hand-painted Bertie will be on display @ IDW Booth#2229 - including all accessories (someone take pics for me pleeeeez?) - peep Ashley's signing schedule @ IDW booth HERE :)

TRE: did i tell you i nearly pissed me boxers when i saw the effin' gorgeous the hand-painted Bertie? ... next: "MIKE BURNETT":

KLIM: We are producing the Neighbourwood figure ... there are some challenges with doing things in wood .. but some sample will be available for viewing at the Con ... also we are making the LUCHA PLUCHA with Mike but I am not sure that the prototypes will make it in time...

TRE: looking real-schweet so far, dude... "Plushed-Luchador-Wrestling" = brill! LOL ... how about "CANDYKILLER" (Brian Taylor)?

KLIM: Candykiller Coney Plushies in Standard (500pcs) and Mono (100pcs)
as well as a Coney Pillow (100 pcs) ...

note: all plushies stand (bean bag in the base for support) at 14"-ers tall. [Coney Plush blogged]

TRE: dude, i remember that was somewhen abouts when we first started our emails - when you showed me the initial plush-proto! (yeah, im a sappy sorta bloke LOL) ... next: "GARY TAXALI"

KLIM: We are developing and producing the OhNo! figure for Gary and his awesome Chump Toys company. again it was Scott Wetterschneider who did the digital development and sculpting for this lil guy!

TRE: anything else you'd like to add?

KLIM: Boost Mobile X Mirf X Mainframe = super awesome high quality
speakers for your iPod, Phone or computer ...

KLIM: they will be sold as a set with one MIRF and Mainframe cans, playing on the old tin can communicator toy as well as promoting the Coast to coast (Mint and Serf are from the East coast and Mainframe is from the West) walkie talkie feature for Boost.

Boost is doing some incredible artist collaborations and we really want to give them props for taking chances in new categories :)
