... or rather, "not seen enough of" ... seriously tho, is there no lurve for UpperDeck's SUBCASTS? [tagged] i can barely find any online pictures anywhere (except these pilfered ones from 'The Octopus' from Spawn.com forum) = at the very least of a coupla Wolverine-pics (*VCD-cool*) and a Ghost Rider with a clear-skull/GID? (*even-cooler*) ... all i know is, you can peek Iron Man standing next to them in color - but no pics! *help*

have been reading a bit of folks reactions to these figures on toyboards; more so the issue of price-points rather than the awesome design (by TWEEQim) and execution of these figures (IMHO) ... regardless, at US$75 per pop, i would expect a minimum amount of articulation tho - failing which, maybe they'd be better off releasing this as a resin or cold-cast statue, at a smaller-scale and a higher price, IMHO... but then again, (as usual) i would need to see this personally or even hold it in my hands to judge ... *heh*

how tall are the figures, actually? each figures stands between 8" to 10", with the Ghost Rider and Iron Man being a bit over 10" (cheers for the info, miQ!)

EDIT: man, in one of my very few times i shoot off me chubby mouth, it happened to be when i've not done enough 'research' (*my bad*) - the figures ARE made of polyresin! (read my comments section to see how i made a fool of meself *LOL*) - or go read the Q&As @ Subcasts.com (which i obviously didn't *slaps-plam-on-forehead* ... :p)

  1. howdy....

just so ya know.....these pieces are polyresin, and not vinyl. we opted to do them in polyresin so we could do things that would hold up, like make the top heavy with skinny legs and the like, also wanting to have a bit more detail than the standard vinyl toy.
they stand at about 8" to 10", with the ghost rider and iron man being a bit over 10", i believe.
thanx for posting this, and i really appreciate the support and nice things you say about our work. if you go to www.subcasts.com, there is more about the pieces, and an interview with us about the project. if you have any other questions, i would be glad to answer them at miQtweeQim@Qwest.net........
    or, just say hi!
thnx again, i really appreciate your enthusiasm!

  2. Actually, these are made out of polyresin/cold cast, not vinyl. Thus no articulation. They are a combo or designer toy styling meets traditional polyresin statues. More info is available at www.subcasts.com. Not too much news is circulating yet on these because they were just revealed at the Con.

  4. ......sorry you are not feeling them. but, you are right, sir/miss anonymous.......we tried. very hard. and we dig em'. had we not tried "too hard" they would have been a couple simple shapes fused together, with feet, and a drippy paint logo plopped on it. but thats not the way we (TWEEQiM) do things.
your tastes and opinions are just as valued, to me, as someone who might like them, so i appreciate the feedback.....however it rolls!

  5. cheers for the info and feedback, miQ and Dave! appreciate the trouble both of you take for a wee blog like mine :p - apologies again for my lack of better research tho (my bad :p)

personally, i reckon tis a tricky line between toy-'genres' - tis like when blister-carded collectors slam the validity of urban art toys and visa versa - each has their own preference and opinions, but most times are more judgemental of 'the other toys' they do not collect, IMHO ...

tis always the case when i visit my comicshop weekly, and i'll hear the folks there whining about how useless urban vinyls are (that are listed on catalogs) when they would queue and fight over carded-figures LOL

to each his own, i guess ... me? i like me some Subcasts! LOL
