adorable miniature-SD-versions of: Ryuk + Light (above) / L + Misa (below)
never knew Deathnote could be so cute *LOL* /// READ MORE HERE
of coz "Deathnote-Cuties" is not the actual name! LOL - but looking real Pinky St.-cute tho (especially the femme-faces) ... no further details on the SD-Deathnote figures (as usual for Japanese-products, IMHO - especially for folks outside of "the loop"; ie: ME ;p) - any information will be very much appreciated, thanks!
the "mystery" is solved! they are named: Deathnote Nendoroids!
- many thanks to the 'Anonymous'-tipster! (refer comment on post)

and for the uninitiated: WHAT IS DEATHNOTE?
Death Note (デスノート Desu Nōto?) is a Japanese manga series originally written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The series primarily centers around a high school student who decides to rid the world of evil with the help of a supernatural notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it. [wiki]
i haven't had the opportunity to read the manga nor watch anime, nor the movie-adaptation (im a cheapskate waiting for pre-loved-DVDs to drop in my neighbourhood DVD-Rental shop LOL) - so i won't pretend to know much about these figures ... other than Medicom producing pretty kick-ass 1/6th RAH-versions of them!

currently available in the US (via SideShowToys): RYUK (as an 1/6-VCD)
/ LIGHT Yagami / L and MISA Amane (the second "Light")

exceptional likeness, IMHO :)
... i wonder how come there's if there's no versions of REM (both RAH and SD-cuties) tho...?

*heh*

A friend just linked me to your post to see how the stands for the little death note figures work, so I figured I'd try and drop a helpful comment as well.
ReplyDeleteThe chibi figures are called Nendoroids; if you search for "death note nendoroid" there will be some results. They run about $30 each, and L and Misa aren't available just yet. I got the Light figure though, and it just won't stand up because of the huge head! Even with the stand, it tips over backwards. That's the only drawback; they're extremely cute and totally worth it despite that though.
many thanks for the tip-off, 'Anonymous'! - tis on da money! - really appreciate the help :)))
ReplyDeleteso would you reckon it'll stand better if they hadf a bigger stand-base? or longer leg-stem? 10cm is a pretty decent sized figure, IMHO :)))
