transformers imax poster

of coz there's the possible 5-minutes worth of extra footage to look forward to, come September 21st? (altho it had better be of either Transformers or Mikela, or else dun bother LOL) ... ya know, i don't think i've ever been to an IMAX-movie ... (it could have been Matrix: Revolutions, but im not really sure, becoz i remembered it sucked...) anybody could shed some light (not technical-readouts, mind) on what im missing out on? *heh*
It's like 3 stories tall of movie kicked into your skull via your eyes and ears, it's a far different (better?) experience than a traditional theater for sure. I'd imagine this movie in particular would be quite a fun ride in Imax.
ReplyDeleteYou should check it if you get the chance.
Watching a movie in a regular theater is a fun experience regardless of the contents of the film, because you only get to do that for a limited time and then that's it. Then it's straight-to-DVD, and you end up arguing quite loudly with your pocketbook as to how much you want to spend on that widescreen/flat screen HD TV.
ReplyDeleteIf that is the usual scenario, then IMAX is a whole other deal. You don't just watch an IMAX- you are enveloped by it! Sometimes, when watching an IMAX where the camera is mounted to a helicopter or plane, then I felt like I flying, and not seated in a theater in front of a 3-story screen. This thing- if you're properly seated center to bottom rows- goes from horizon to horizon, and the sound quality is both outstanding and surrounding... again regardless of the content of the film you're watching.
It isn't promoted as "The IMAX Experience" for no reason. If I weren't out of town when it was on (goddammit!), I would definitely go and see the extended "Transformers" in IMAX!
