about that madman movie and comicbook series
to be thoroughly unfair to the filmmakers, i really don't think anyone would be able to do a good MADMAN movie-adaptation, least of all portray Frank Einstein as he appears in the comicbook created by Mike Allred ... unless of coz the creator himself is a part of it:

Madman is a post-modernist reimagining of the Frankenstein tale, with a superhero twist. The title character, killed in a car accident, is reanimated by an eccentric doc who names him Frank Einstein and instills in him enhanced senses, psychic power and exceptional physical skills. The doc can't fix his creature's face, so Madman wears a costume modeled after his fave superhero to hide his scars. = if they don't cast Johnny Depp then i dunno who'll be a better Frank (but then again, it would haveta be at least a5 10-years-younger-Depp LOL :p)
meanwhile, if you've not been collecting the recent MADMAN ATOMIC COMICS-series (from Image - tis up to Issue#4 now) you should try and check out Issue#3 - titled: "SWIPED FROM DIMENSION X!" = whereby Frank runs thru an entire representation of multiple comicbook universes and art-influences from various masters - masterfully rendered by Mike Allred - here are some panels (images courtesy of BrokenFrontier.com) can you figure out the different art-styles and from whom?

George was getting married in Italy, so it seemed like the perfect time to go to his place. We wrote out the cards, and broke it down scene-by-scene, and then he went to Italy on his honeymoon while I knocked out the screenplay ... Then, when he got back, we were able to go over it together and give it a polish... I think the three of us--Robert, George, and myself are very close to sharing our vision for the film with Dimension.
The bottom line is that all the elements I'm excited about are in there, and all the moments that I think the most diehard fans would want are in there ... Right now, we're waiting on the studio notes, and hopefully we'll get the green light and be able to start casting and scheduling. Otherwise, we'll go back for a new polish and start up again. But that's the exact situation we're in now."
