prepare for the coming of combat-r-zero

herez a test-teaser vidclip for COMBAT-R-ZERO:

[do forgive me for the pixelation, still can't figure how to solve it :p]
remember my feature on Robert DeCastro's independently-produced COMBAT-R-ZERO 9"-er tall mecha-vinyl? [peep HERE for a refresher, y'all!] - well, Robert's dropped some images of GID-vinyl samples (*sweet*) and gives us an update on CRZ's production status, including info on colorways, quantities and possible price-points = /// CLICK HERE TO READ Q&A

TOYSREVIL: any updates on CRZ thus far? what stage is he in right now?

ROBERT DECASTRO: I'm actually expecting delivery of some painted samples in a few days. It needs a bit of tweaking paint wise but nothing the factory engineers can't handle. We also decided on a re-closeable clamshell type packaging. This will keep the CRZ within our expected price point.

TRE: ah yes, "price" - we'll get back to that later (;p) ... meanwhile, are you happy with the result thus far?

RC: So far the factory I've gone with has not disappointed me. I've designed toys for other companies before but there is noting like doing it for yourself. Each stage has had (knock on wood) little to no glitches and the experience has been a positive eye opener and a wonderfull learning experience. I would not trade a bad day making toys to any good day in a regular office job. Combat-R Zero is turning out GREAT and I hope (crossing fingers) that it will continue in that course.

TRE: you know i only have the utmost best wishes for you in that department, Robert! ... from the pictures, CRZ could stand on his own feets, even with gargantuan mecha-arms out-stretched = totally appreciate the stability! was that deliberate/planned? (of coz it was, i sound like an idiot LOL)

RC: YES, This was my main concern from the design stage. I CAN NOT STAND toys that well... can't stand! LOL. By the factory's recommendation as a matter of fact ... it was decided to sacrifice the articulation on the legs (simple rotation, no big loss) and have it glued in place to insure the figures ability to stand effectively. CRZ believe it or not stands better with his arms out (my fav pose) looking like he's about to launch his "chain fist" (not an actual function btw).

TRE: you got me perked-up at "chain-fist"! ... how many colorways are planned at this moment? (does it include the GID?) - any production limit/quantity on the figures?

RC: There are four regular and one special colorway planned. They will be limited to 500 and 200 pcs each respectively. And yes a GID will be included. =D

TRE: the next question folks would be wondering as well: drop-date and price

ROBERT DE CASTRO: HMMM ... Drop date isn't too solid right now BUT I can tell you that we are expecting delivery (hopefully) late December 07 early January 08. at our warehouse. Sales shouldn't be too far from that ... As far as price points, we are shooting for a US$50.00 to US$55.00 dollar price point. Hey thanks again Andy for showcasing my Bot dude ... ToysREvil RULES !!!

TOYSREVIL: no duder, the honor and pleasure is mine! totally appreciate the opportunity! can't wait to see the colorways, Robert! ya KNOW im gonna be bugging you again when your color-samples arrive (and i can "complete" the video!) LOL
