About Metin Seven X Crazy Label's Sheep Devil

i first noticed Metin Seven's Sheep Devil via digital-renders a whiles' back on Seamour Sheep's website and had admittedly been "charmed" by them since ("grinning devils" do that to me *cough*) and now the figures are fast becoming a "reality" awaiting vinylization by Crazy Label starting with this first peek @ the wax model (image-right) derived from the rapid prototype (3D print / image-left):

of coz i had to bug Metin (during this busy period no less, my bad, Metin! :p)

TOYSREVIL: how did the Devil Sheep (or is it Sheep Devils?) come about?

METIN SEVEN: So far, the first and only appearance of the Sheep Devil (a wink to "she devil") is in this comic: http://seamoursheep.com/comics.php?id=34

METIN SEVEN: Seamour's American cousin turns into a devil sheep when he thinks of the things you can do with the profit from a discovered oil-well. I always like a demonic version of any character. Marty also has a devilish counterpart: http://seamoursheep.com/comics.php?id=6

TOYSREVIL: oh cool = a Mole-Devil! (now wouldn't that make a fab partner to Sheep Devil? *wink-wink*) ... are they in any way directly related to Seamour Sheep? (in "family-tree" or toy)

METIN SEVEN: In the mentioned comic Seamour's cousin becomes the devil, but the actual Sheep Devil vinyl figure will have a different appearance, more devilish. So that incarnation of the Sheep might make his own appearance in a future comic. :-)

TOYSREVIL: sounds cool! tis always cool when the "real-world" and "fictional-world" crossover, IMHO ... there are 2 sheeps in your digital-renders (Red and Black) which i've seen since a long while back (when i'd intended to bug you abut LOL) - do they come as a pair? do they have names? what's their story?

METIN SEVEN: Actually, the image you mean is a previsualisation featuring my impression of what the Sheep Devil editions might look like. However, the final concept has turned out differently and in my humble opinion it will be much cooler.

:-) I am not allowed to say a lot about it at this stage, but you can be sure the Sheep Devil is going to rock.

TOYSREVIL: fair enuff, Metin, fair enough ... (*rubbing hands in devilish-glee*) and i have absolutely no doubt about it's impending awesomeness LOL - how did the toy with Crazy Label come about? and how big are they going to be? (same size as Seamour?)

METIN SEVEN: Yes, they will be the same size as Seamour. Andy Woo from Crazy Label is the one who decides which toys will be realized. I only create characters that might be realized by Crazy Label, so it remains a surprise which of my character designs will be realized.

TOYSREVIL: "surprise" is always part of the fun, IMHO ... what's the current status of Sheep Devil the toy?

METIN SEVEN: Now that the rapid prototype is received and the wax model is derived from it, the next stage will be a first vinyl incarnation.

TOYSREVIL: any tentative drop-dates as yet?

METIN SEVEN: I don't dare to mention that yet. I leave it up to Andy to determine a release date.

TOYSREVIL: fair enough, Metin ... AAANDYYYY??? (*heh*) ... cheers for your time and trouble, metin, amidst what is expected to be a mad year-end/festive period - what's up next for Metin Seven?

METIN SEVEN: :-) Right now I'm eagerly entering a holiday break of two weeks. I'm planning to do a lot of pleasant, relaxing things for myself, including the creation of at least two new comic episodes of Seamour Sheep.

TOYSREVIL: looking forward to more goodies from you in 2008, Metin! have a fab holiday and new year to you both, Metin and Natasja!
