ToyFare [all original images via] has exclusive sneak peeks of the WIP-protoypes of Series 1, which will include Fry and Bender from the cartoon series "tentatively due out in July or August ... future assortments may have Leela and Nibbler. Look for variant figures within each wave, as well" (EDIT: the Simpsons' Blinky the 3-Eyed Fish and Bart Raven shown are samples for the upcoming SIMPSONS line and have nothing to do with the FUTURAMA items)

"As we continue to work on the sculpt of each figure in classic form, you can bet that you'll see some classic variants along with the others, especially Bender," said Diamond ComicsKevin Winnick. "You can bet you'll see Flexo, the female Bender and even the GOLD Bender!" *sweet*

  1. Sorry man, but there's no way that's Blinky from the Simpsons. That fish displayed doesn't even have a third eye.

    Here is Blinky:

  4. Actually, the fish and the Bart Bird are samples for the upcoming SIMPSONS line. They have nothing to do with the FUTURAMA items. Just int he same shot - kw

  5. surely it must be time to ditch the qee-like body and go for something that's truer to the Groening-design

  6. "it says "prototypes", gents."

Yes it does, but I think you have to agree that's a massive oversight on a character that's has one primary claim to fame and that's the third eye. Not including it is uber weird.

  7. TSR: NO, i do not disagree violently with you dude.

the fact that even the grey color is totally different/off (even from your image-link) only begs to differ either (1) there's a typo in ToyFare's article, and it is NOT Blinky at all, or (2) something is fundamentally askew in the intended design - but i am in no position to speak for the folks producing the figures, hence i choose to wait for a more concrete development.

but nevertheless, kudos to both you and "anonymous" for pointing "the missing third eye" out and for taking the time to leave feedback on my blog, which im sure has been read by the "powers-that-be" :)

first sign of any concrete answers, i'll be sure to blog about it. and do let me know if you find out anything too, appreciate it! :)

  8. Up in an article about the SIMPSONS line, it explains that it is not blinky. the guy who posted this probably hadnt seen that.

also, look at front shot of fry, then load forbidden planet and look at the Bart Quee. is it just me or has bart just been recoloured and given some hair?
