seen@sdcc2008: macquarrie's vader

I dunno about you folks, but I've always felt McQuarrie's designs for SW would make sweet toys (I know they've released the action figures - not the size im after, sorry) especially if they are in 1/6th (I am after all still a 1/6th addict) more extreme and perhaps less "family orientated" than the feature film designs (nothing wrong with the screen-versions tho), IMHO.
Instead of re-envisioning the past, perhaps folks would consider re-visiting the classics instead, wave hello (in lieu of a sharp salute) or even a silent nod to the Genesis Fathers and Mothers - altho it also means not gutting them for cash fodder, like the resurrgence of Hollywood-remakes, IMHO.
Peep some of McQuarrie's earlier designs here.
