the singapore toy, games & comic convention 2009 (exhibitors registration begins)
The inaugural Singapore Toy & Comic Convention held in 2008 (for which TRE was an Official Media for) - has now been renamed The SINGAPORE TOY, GAMES & COMIC CONVENTION [www] for 2009 and is scheduled to happen between 13th to 16th of August!
"Proudly supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, STGCC 2009 strives to be the de facto Asian platform for today's top manufacturers, distributors, retailers & related industries, as well as pop-culture enthusiasts from across the globe - featuring the convergence of Toys, Comics, Animation, Gaming, Licensing, Design and Cosplay - right in the heart of sunny Singpore."
Besides the obvious name-change (which befuddles me, but perhaps understand the need to encompass a bigger genre-pool, IMHO) - there are a couple of new "changes" - one of which is the addition of an extra day to the 3-Day event in 2008 (1 Friday Preview Night + 2 Public Exhibition days on Saturday & Sunday) - starting on a Thursday.
From August 13th to August 16th Sunday, festivities start off with new Conference Sessions, in addition to Trade and Public Exhibition sessions. And the venue-space has also been enlarged, from a single hall in 2008, to HALLS 401-402 @ the Suntec Convention Centre. Will the crowds surpass the 140,000-strong from 2008, in 2009?
FYI: Admission is still FREE for 2009 :)

Me? With the mixed memories of the event (mostly good, I insist!) I'm definitely looking forward to 2009's! ... Altho I do still have tons of images and video footage from 2008's yet to format and publish ... maybe I'll get to finish them before August 2009, innit? hhmm.
